How is the Roxanich wine connected to design? The Roxanich Winery is witnesses of tradition and promoter of art and culture, starting from the aesthetic aspect of the cellar up to the wine labels. New design of the Roxanich wines based on Petra Rožanić’s exhibition - the family artist whose paintings have been the inspiration for the new labels, perfectly fits into Milan Design Week concept. And more important, the wine contribute to a cheerful atmosphere full of honest smiles.
Milan Design Week is the biggest annual design event in the world, hosting the largest furniture fair Salone del Mobile. During the Milan Design Week, from April 17th to 23rd 2023, installations took over nearly every square inch of the city. The Roxanich wines were part of the event organized by the Joseph& Anni Albers Foundation and AMO in the theater space of a nunnery and school, the Istituto Marcelline Tommaseo.
AMO – a new platform by Ambra Medda and Veronica Sommaruga – partnered with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation to present Teatro Albers, a celebration of contemporary handmade design. Teatro Albers presented works by London-based designer Marco Campardo and Pisa-based master weaver Laura de Cesare, who had been brought together in recognition of their shared embrace of experimental and process-driven design. Also on view were large-scale woven room dividers, inspired by Anni Albers’s distinctive works created for her 1949 solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The artist Zebedee designed special menu, wine list and personalized food paper sheets for the event. Zebedee uses various mediums, depending on the nature of the work, but there is to be found in all of it a unifying theme of affectionate humorosity, which is quite the sort of thing this world needs more of.
